We are a campaigning organisation and we are led by our members – that’s you! We work to make your time at university the best it can be by advocating on your behalf and supporting students to make real change to improve things both on campus and in the community.
It’s easier than you think to start a campaign, all you need is a great idea for something that would improve your University experience, and other people to who will get behind it. All you have to do is fill in the online form on our Big Ideas site, and once it's been approved get other people to vote online for your idea. Take a look through to see some of the ideas other people have had, and get started on your own.
If you’ve got a great idea for a campaign or a burning issue you want to address the Students’ Union can support you in all sorts of ways! Through our Take Action Funding scheme, you're able to apply for a grant of up to £300 for your campaign, giving you the chance to achieve a whole lot more. Our dedicated campaigns staff can support you through the whole process – from planning your campaign to evaluating your success.
Liberation is the seeking of equal status or just treatment before or on behalf of any group believed to be discriminated against. Every year we run a range of liberation campaigns to represent, extend and defend the rights of students who self define as BME, Disabled, LGBT+ or Women.
Our first campaign of the year is Black History Month in October, make sure you follow us on Facebook and Twitter @salfordsu to find out more as we announce it.
