WHO ARE WE? Almost Famous is a theatre company dedicated to welcoming new talent and showcasing professional standard performances. We welcome everyone of all talents into our society, including performers, lighting and sound engineers, costume and set designers, and stage and production managers. DO I NEED EXPERIENCE TO JOIN? We welcome all abilities into Almost Famous. You definitely do not need any experience to join. The group is a place to improve your skills, grow confidence and make friends for life. SHOWS & PERFORMANCES! This year, Almost Famous will be putting on a number of shows: the play 'A Doll's House' and the musical 'Fame!'. As well as this, we will also be putting on our annual Miscast Performance as well as Variety Show! THE AUDITION PROCESS You do not have to audition to be part of the society - auditions will be held individually for each show. Breathe. Be yourself. Do your best. Chances are 50+ people are feeling exactly the same way as you do while waiting to audition. Support each other, we don't expect any Oscar-winning performances, just have fun! I’M A FIRST-YEAR... IS THERE A CHANCE OF A MAIN ROLE? Of course, there is! We have had so many impressive first years come along and snatch a main role in the first semester, so go for it! Roles are earned and are given to those who show the most potential during the audition. We look for talent, enthusiasm, confidence, and commitment! SOCIETY LIFE Although we are first and foremost a theatre company, we are here to have fun! We aim to make freshers feel a part of the Almost Famous family from the start. Our Social and Wellbeing Officers are here to help with anything you are dealing with as we all know how hard it is being away from home and dealing with new situations on your own. We're and friendly and inclusive society! We organise as many activities as possible, from sober socials like movie nights to big society nights out, there is always something for everyone! And of course, as a theatre company, we do love a fancy dress party!

Fame!
Based on the 1980 film and its subsequent television series, Fame! the musical follows a group of talented musicians, singers, dancers, and actors. At New York’s legendary High School for the Performing Arts as they transform from starstuck students to superstars! 
Featuring the Oscar-winning title song, Almost Famous Theatre Company’s production will have you grooving in your seat and dancing on your feet.
