Nominations for Volunteer Officers and NUS Delegates now open!

Nominations are now open for four new Volunteer Officers and to become one of our five elected delegates for the National Conference of the National Union of Students’ (NUS) in Brighton in April 2017. http://www.salfordstudents.com/elections

Volunteer Officers

Your Sabbatical Officers lead our work on your academic interests in specific schools but our remit also includes much more... Nominations are now open for you to become a voluntary leader in one of four areas of focus for the Union.

These vital roles will involve leading monthly meetings for your area and being responsible for the budget too! Full training will of course be provided - this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in leadership, financial management and communication.

Sports and Activities Officer: You will be responsible for dealing with monthly funding requests from our groups and representing the views of students from sports clubs and activity groups.

Community and Wellbeing Officer: You will lead the our work on projects in the local community and the wellbeing of students. You will represent the views of students who commute into University.

International Students Officer: You will be responsible for representing the views of international students whilst organising events that improve the integration of international students and campaigns on issues which may affect international students.

Liberation Groups Officer: You will lead our work on and represent the views of four liberation student groups; LGBTQ, BME, Women and Students with Disabilities.

 

NUS Delegates

As one of our esteemed NUS Delegates you will attend a 3 day conference in Brighton from 25th to 27th of April 2017. You will represent Salford students on the national stage and discuss issues which affect students nationally! You will also get to meet with delegates from other student’s unions and elect the NUS President and Vice-Presidents. All travel and reasonable expenses will be covered by us!
