As the academic year draws to a close, you might be thinking about earning a little cash over the summer break...

We’ve put together this list of summer jobs in and around Salford and Manchester to help you find a way to earn a few extra pennies this summer!


Casual Bar/Hospitality

If you can pour a pint, you can earn a penny – and there are loads of opportunities in and around Greater Manchester this summer to earn them.

Arc Hospitality is recruiting for a wide range of roles from bar staff to waiters for a range of events/festivals and concerts around Manchester this summer!

Many of the roles are flexible, so you can work them around any other holiday plans you might have – the perfect way to earn a bit of extra cash and still enjoy some quality time away from your studies!

Retail

It might seem obvious, but there are loads of retail opportunities over the summer.

Companies often take on extra staff during the summer months, and the roles are often advertised for students to earn extra money while away from university!

These jobs vary from casual/part-time positions to full-time positions, so you can still work around your summer plans.

So whether you’re staying in Manchester or heading back home for the summer, it’s well worth keeping your eye out for any seasonal retail jobs on job sites such as Indeed, Reed, or Glassdoor!


Event/Festival Stewards

Manchester and the North West is host to a whole range of events and festivals this summer.

This means that stewarding is a great way to earn a bit of extra cash around any plans you might already have lined up this summer!

Also, some companies offer a free ticket to anyone working the event – great for any music/sports fans!

Equipt Security is currently hiring for festivals such as Neighbourhood, Parklife, and Tramlines to name just a few, and while experience is preferred, it’s not required – just a friendly, can-do attitude!


Volunteering

Working over the summer is a great way to add some experience/skills to your CV – so why not try volunteering as well?

Volunteering is a great way to boost your employability and is a great way to keep yourself busy over the summer! And while it doesn't necessarily pay, it can get you into positions which do!
