Possible outcomes can include written undertakings, warnings, fines, suspension, withdrawal of academic credit or award, and expulsion.

Fitness to Practise procedure

If you find yourself facing a Fitness to Practice issue, it is important to seek advice. The Students Union Advice Centre is here to support you throughout the process.

Please remember that a Fitness to Practise process is not intended to punish or discourage, but rather to ensure the safety and well-being of both the public and students. The process aims to provide an opportunity for reflection, learning, and support to help students overcome any challenges they may be facing.

If you are notified of a Fitness to Practise concern, it is crucial to respond promptly and engage with the process. You will have the opportunity to present your perspective, provide relevant information or evidence, and seek appropriate support. The specific requirements and procedures may vary depending on your program and professional body regulations.

Fitness to Study procedure

The Fitness to Study Policy is for when there are concerns related to a student’s health or well-being that may impact their ability to engage effectively in their studies. The outcomes of the Fitness to Study process can include tailored support, referral to support services, as well as taking a break from studying where appropriate. The aim of this policy is to provide support to students. By engaging with this process, students can access resources and guidance to succeed in their studies.
