We are #TEAMSALFORD!

Over the past year, your Students’ Union and the University have formed a ‘Sports Partnership Group’ (stick with us, it’s more exciting than it sounds…) to look at the delivery of Sport for you, our students! Together, the Sports Partnership Group has written a shiny, new Student Sports Strategy, giving sport the focus and drive it deserves for you all.

So what’ll this new Student Sport Strategy deliver? Simple:

THE VISION! - To inspire all of our students to be active, and give them opportunities to build a better future for themselves!

THE MISSION! - We put students first – always! We also deliver sport programmes, volunteering and personal skills development opportunities, and these are catered to suit all of Salford’s different levels of interest, ability and diversity.

This is a really exciting project which will have a positive impact on all our students, we’re seriously keen to get this rolling and to get you all involved! You will see lots of changes over the next few months that are a result of the strategy, but the most exciting change that is happening right now is the development of our sparkly new Sports Brand.

Throughout this year you will have seen #TeamSalford been used on our social media when supporting our teams and activities. We love the phrase to bits, as it sums up the ethos of the strategy – we are all a team and we all support each other *HIGH FIVES ALL ROUND*! But every good brand needs a logo right? And who better to pick the final logo than you? The power is in your hands!

The winning design will be the overall brand for all sporting activity and will be the recognisable image associated with sport throughout Salford – so that means playing kit, staff kit, sports centre kit, and all sports-based content coming from both your SU and the University. We want ALL of our students to feel proud of the logo and want to represent the University of Salford wearing the logo with pride!

Your voice is already being heard within the Student Sport Strategy, as you’ve picked Under Armour to be your SU’s kit supplier for the next 4 years. They are just as excited by Team Salford as we are, and cannot wait to see which logo you pick so they can incorporate into the kit design, so don’t hang about, get voting now!
