LGBT History Month

Friday 05-02-2016 - 17:01

This February USSU is proud to be working with our LGBT Group and the University of Salford to celebrate LGBT History Month. Throughout the month USSU will be wearing its colours with pride as we hang the rainbow flag around our building and on our logo on social media. Union staff will also be wearing rainbow ribbons all month. There are still some left that you can pick up from University House if you want to join us.

Throughout the month we want to give you the opportunity to reflect, discuss and celebrate. Our exhibition in the Activities Space charts the 40 year history of our own LGBT group through articles from the archive of past publications of The Salfordian. Later in the month the Almost Famous society present three very special performances of Spring Awakening. Tickets are £5 for students and £7 for non students.

We close off the month with a discussion called Love, Faith and Sexuality. This session, hosted by Student Life and the Multi Faith Chaplaincy is open to all and will promote dialogue and understanding.

Have a look at our events calendar for full details of all our events taking place across campus as well as throughout Salford and Manchester.

If you need any support or guidance you can contact the LGBT Foundation or speak to Nightline between 8pm and 8am. Their number is on the back of your student card. Alternatively you can contact the University diversity team.
