Hi, I’m Fiza your Students’ Union President. I hope I got to meet you during Welcome last month and you had a great experience in your first month here at Salford.

My job is to challenge and work with the University on matters which directly have an impact on YOU, the student. As promised in my election last semester, I will do everything in my power to ensure that I fulfil each promise in my manifesto. ~ Remember, by Union democratic rules, you can challenge and hold me to account if I don’t.

I work with a sabbatical team of 4 Vice Presidents who represent each College and YOUR VOICE. Use the sabbs and all the great opportunities to feedback your student experience. This is how we are able to hold the University accountable for their promises to you. That's our job.

  • Alex Thorp is VP of Science and Technology.
  • Marina Hristova is VP of Business and Law.
  • Jasmine Pokuaa is VP of Health and Social Care
  • Todd Hewitt is VP of Arts and Media.

We are based upstairs in University House so feel free to pop in to our office for a chat anytime. If you'd like book a meeting with us, just email the Union.

Student Representation

Becoming a student representative of your course is a great way to feedback to your Students’ Union on matters that directly affect you and your fellow students. All you need to do is speak to your Programme Leader or if you want to share your ideas then you can contact your College VP.

Look out for ‘SU on Tour’ where you can have face to face interaction with your Union. We listen and take your opinions to the University and get real changes so don’t be shy and come to us.

Your Students’ Union also specialises in academic advice and support and we have a team of councillors for you throughout your time at uni to help you with anything related to your academic experience. You can book an appointment at our Info Point (University House) or through email.

Activities and Sports

If you’re interested in joining an activity or sports group then this is a great way of meeting new people, enhancing your employability skills and at the same time enjoying what you do.
Give Sport a Go is another way for you to get involved with sport without having to worry about ‘committing’ for the whole year. Our programme offers a wide range of sports from squash, basketball, badminton and much more. If you’re in University House you can pop to our Info Point and pick up a leaflet with the full schedule. You first session is free!

Shops and services

We operate three campus shops and Atmosphere Kitchen and Bar as well as bike hire, finance payments, event tickets, photo booth and Graduation photography.

Stay in touch!

Keep up to date on Facebook page, Twitter and website for all the latest information and updates on what your sabbatical officers are up to giving you the academic, democratic and social experience Salford deserves!

See you around!

Fiza
