Here at Action For Humanity we have an exciting opportunity for a Programmes volunteer to join our team based in Salford, Greater Manchester. You will join us on a part-time basis over 2-3 days per week. Out current volunteers do 10-4, but hours are flexible.  As this is a volunteer role it will be unpaid but you will be able to claim back reasonable expenses i.e. food, travel.

Action For Humanity is a charity that aims to provide aid and assistance to people affected by natural and man-made disasters. As an NGO we are guided by our drive to help others, not profit. When emergencies strike, we act to ensure to save lives and protect the vulnerable. When the emergency is over, we stay and help restore lives.

The sort of tasks you will be doing:

  • Monitor project progress and identify potential issues
  • Assist with project implementation and reporting phases
  • Prepare and provide documentation to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Help assist with internal audit of the projects folder
  • Help update and complete the project tracker
  • Manage meeting agendas/appointments for the team
  • Assist colleagues whenever necessary
  • Perform other tasks assigned

What we’re looking for in our Programmes Volunteer

  • Working towards a degree in a relevant subject (International development, geography, development studies or similar) or a recent graduate (within the past 2 years).
  • An understanding of humanitarian sector and sustainable development
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills  
  • This opportunity would provide valuable experience for a student wanting a career in International Development and looking to make a difference in the Charity Sector!
