Cash Desk Volunteer

Details Hide[-]

Could you be the friendly face of your local British Heart Foundation shop? With support around you and full training provided, you will be processing sales through the till as a cashier, talking to customers and thanking every donor - helping us continue to fund life saving research. This is a role where you will meet and interact with a wide range of people in the local community.

Typical tasks include:

  • Answering questions from customers, donors and supporters
  • Honing your retail and cashier skills behind the till and taking payments
  • Communicating with fellow volunteers about what has sold and needs re-stocking to keep our shop looking great
  • Helping with administration and reception duties around the till area

Funding for researchers begins at your local charity shop. Every pound raised in BHF shops helps the charity to support those living with heart and circulatory diseases. You’ll also be supporting a more sustainable society. This year, British Heart Foundation shops will save around 71,000 tonnes of pre-loved items from going to waste.

You can get a lot from volunteering too:

  • Work in a friendly team & meet a diverse group of people
  • Develop your confidence and interpersonal skills
  • Get involved in the local community
  • 25% volunteer discount on donated goods
  • Gain valuable work experience
  • The feel-good factor of helping the British Heart Foundation save and improve lives
