Responsibilities

• Attend weekly sessions
• Support the coach(es) in delivering the sessions
• Support the members in engaging in the sessions
• Create a fun and friendly environment for the group
• General administrative duties around running the sessions

When & Where

• The sessions take place at Buile Hill Academy (M6 8RD) from 6pm-7pm every Thursday 

Perks & Development Opportunities 

• Gain valuable experience in a wonderful area of sport.
• Work closely with Special Olympics Great Britain and Basketball England to offer further events and competitions for our teams to engage with.
• There is no expectation of previous disability or basketball knowledge, we are looking for people who are willing to learn and show a desire to come and volunteer with us. The rest we can teach you along the way! 

About us 

• Our Salford Knights learning disability basketball group has been running since 2019 and we have had the opportunity to work with a large number of people with learning disabilities since the sessions started.
• The pandemic did set us back a bit but we were able to keep our members engaged online and have since started the face to face sessions once more this season! 
• DOSportUK offer 8 community sessions per week alone and for events we welcome basketball teams from around the UK. Any volunteer will have the opportunity to fully engage with any and all opportunities that arise throughout the season and we are committed to training our dedicated volunteers.
