We know that this year has been difficult for everyone and we want to ensure we can continue to represent your voices to the university for the remainder of this term and into the next.
The Covid Listening Project is how we plan to do this. In a year where there seems to be a new announcement every day, we want to be on the ball, making sure we can respond to changes as quickly as possible.
Whilst being quick in our responses we also want to ensure that whatever we say captures your voices and opinions; we exist to fight for the rights of students after all!
If you are short on time but still want to get involved, don’t worry – it takes 1 minute to sign NUS Students’ Deserve Better petition and put your support behind getting better support for students
Got an extra couple of minutes, then share the link to the petition in all your group chats and get all your mates to sign it too.
If you want to do even more, you can write to your local MP. Use our template to tell them about your experiences of university this year and ask them to attend the debate on the tuition fee refunds on November 16th in parliament, in support of the campaign.
If you aren’t sure who your MP is or how to reach them, you can find out the details here, just enter your postcode! https://members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP
Over the next few weeks your Officer Team want to hear about your experiences of the last 3 months, and to do so we are running 4 listening sessions between now and the Christmas Break.
There will be no set agendas, no preconceived views, these spaces are designed to listen to your ideas and opinions 100%.
To ensure we can cover as much feedback as possible, each session will have a slightly different focus. Come along to every session or just come along to the ones you are most interested in.
There’s no need to sign up beforehand & there is no limit to how many people can attend.
So, bring your ideas, opinions, concerns and questions…we are ready to listen!
