Student Group Collaboration of the Year Shortlist

Have a look below for who got nominated and a small extract from their nomination.

Miscast (Almost Famous & Sal' For Laughs)

This year the comedy society was producing a lot of great work within society time that we felt wouldn't fit into the format of the shows we were putting on.
Thankfully, Almost Famous agreed to collaborate with us by letting us be a part of Miscast. We put three sketches into the show that we'd been working on, that got a great reception. As well as this, the hosts of the show were both members of the comedy society and had been given the chance to audition to host because of the collaboration!

Now is the Time! (Almost Famous & Dance)

Back in February Salford University Dance Society collaborated with part of Almost Famous Theatre Company. We came together to help put on our performance of 'SUDS Presents... Now is the Time'. Almost Famous' technical team helped us throughout both of our shows and the tech week leading to it. It was really fun working with one of the biggest societies and we felt we was able to help out their society a lot as well as them helping us.

The 1st Manchester Cup (Fencing)

MMU, UoM and UoS all pulled together to put on an event for 50+ members to compete against each other in the city's first university fencing cup. The event "The 1st Manchester Cup" included fencers of all different abilities and genders going head to head, representing the university to be crowned with the trophy.
