Each club is given a certain budget each year to go towards the running of their club from the Students’ Union, which the Treasurer will need to manage. As well as managing the club budget the treasurer is responsible for applying for extra funding, organising deposits for trips / socials and making sure all the club members have paid their membership.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Learn and understand the Students’ Union’s financial system, attend training
  2. Organise affiliation to national bodies (via the Activities Office)
  3. Apply for the annual grant and extra funding from the Union as necessary
  4. Ensure all the club have paid their club membership on the Students’ Union website
  5. Keep track of all income / expenditure
  6. Keep the committee and members informed of the group’s financial situation
  7. Organise fundraising or sponsorship for your group
  8. Countersign every requisition form
  9. Liaise with the committee and agree on a membership price that reflects the cost of your sport
  10. Work closely with Kit / Equipment Secretary when new kit / equipment needs to be purchased
  11. Collect money for the referee
