About Us

Salford University's Men's Football Club comprises four teams, three of which compete in the BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) leagues and respective cup competitions; the fourth team participate in the University's campus league.

The club is student-run and, with over 70 players, is the largest sporting member of the University's Student Union. This also makes the club a main contributor to University 'socials' which are held monthly. When a night out isn't on the agenda, FIFA tournaments and poker competitions have proven to be successful substitutes! Nevertheless, joining the football team generates many opportunities to broaden your friendship group(s) at the University.

All four teams train (Mondays) and play fixtures (Wednesday) on the same days, on the newly-installed David Lewis 3G which backs onto Peel Park Student Quarter. Moreover, if one is successful in our trials (see top of page), purchasing a full membership (see 'Membership' page) with the club permits free weekly training with Chris Morrell, an A License Coach, and the elegibility to represent the University in competitive fixtures.

Trials this year will take place on the 21st September. For more information on trials, you will need to go onto the salford union website home page and scroll down to the calender in the bottom left corner. Go to the date the trails are on (21st) and then they will come up. Once you have pressed on them trails it will take them to a page which will say Buy Now. Trial slot 1 is having technical issues. Select the slot times 1-1:45 to be able to book the tickets (trial will end at 2:45).
