Frequently Asked Questions:
How can I join the University of Salford men's football team?
By means of trials (see immediately below). If a player misses trials they should abstain from buying a membership, and instead email the club chairman (see bottom of homepage).
Do you have to pay to trial?
Yes - £5. This will be paid upon completing the digital trial form at the upcoming 'Fresher's Fairs' on 24/09/21 and 27/09/21. Should a player be successful in the first trial, they will be required to pay a further £2.50 for the second trial; the 3rd and final trial is free of charge.
When and where are trials this year?
Within the week commencing 27/09/21. Specific dates and times to be confirmed before 24/09/21.
How many teams does the club have?
We have 4 teams in total, 3 of which compete in the BUCS leagues and cup competitions whilst the 4th team participates in the University's campus league.
How much will my membership cost?
We have two different membership types which you can view by navigating the task bar at the top of this page.
How do I pay for my membership?
You can pay for your 2020/21 club membership via the 'Join This Club' option just above the task bar. Alternatively, you may use your 'Inspire' funds to do this. (FRESHERS, PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS UNTIL YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY TRIALLED).
Is the club run by students?
Yes - all players and committee members are current Salford University Students.
When and where does the club train - and is it weekly?
Training is hosted on the newly-installed David Lewis 3G which neighbours Peel Park Student Quarter. Training is held every Monday at 7-8pm (3rd and 4th team) and 8-9pm (1st and 2nd team).
Are metal studded boots and/or blades permitted on the David Lewis 3G?
No, only moulded boots or astroturf trainers can be worn on this surface.
