Team Salford Activator


Activators are required across a selection of activities to implement new programmes for the academic year 2022/23 at the University of Salford Students’ Union. These activities are to be integrated and sustained within the new Give It A Go and Campus League programmes. 

The purpose of the Activator roles are to increase the participation of extracurricular and social activities at the University of Salford Students’ Union through the development, implementation and where appropriate delivery of a menu of opportunities to both staff and students. 

These roles are ideally suited for students looking to gain valuable experience to enhance employability opportunities. The roles will involve delivery of the activity, on-going administrative work, promotion and with supervision, budget management. Activators will be required to volunteer for up to 8 hours each week during the academic year (Semester 1 and 2). A minimum commitment of 1 hour per week. 

We currently have several Team Salford Activator positions available across a wide range of activities. Where possible, we will allocate roles to preferred activities. These will include activities ranging from sports to creative activities and much, much more. There is something on offer for everyone!
 

Main duties: 

· To support the Student Opportunities team at major events (e.g., Welcome, Intramural Varsity, Chester Varsity, League Finals). 

· Be an ambassador for Team Salford. 

· To communicate and promote Give it a Go. 

· To support the delivery of Give it a Go and Campus Leagues. 

· To support development opportunities for students and staff to take part in. 

· To encourage and motivate students and staff to participate. To recruit and retain participants. 

· To assist the Student Opportunities team with data input, administration, and social media. 

· To be knowledgeable about the Students’ Unions wider initiatives. 

· Data collection including session attendance and feedback. 

· Provide updates and feedback from the students to the Give It a Go Coordinator so the programme can develop in a way that students want.

Please include any previous engagement with USSU in your cover letter and your preferences for which sports or activities you would like to be involved in. Activities include (but are not limited to): Badminton, Football, Netball, 6-a-side and 11-a-side Campus League Football, Basketball, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Dodgeball, and off-campus trips.
