University is an emotional experience, and with deadline season coming up, this experience can turn into a rollercoaster.

Sometimes the best ways to let out these emotions and overwhelming feelings are to have a healthy cry.

Here are 3 spots on your Peel park campus suitable for a good cry!

1) Library Wellness Room

The Wellness Room is located on the first floor of the Clifford Whitworth building and has been converted into a tranquil oasis...

With many comfortable & welcoming sofas and chairs, students can make the most of this space and let out their feelings here.

2) SEE Building Serenity Room

Have you been in the new SEE Building yet? Well if you head up to the third floor, you might find the Serenity Room...

Built especially for students to wind down after a long day at the University, this space has comfy sofas, padded chairs, and even some beanbags!

A good place to let those emotions out, you’ll also be able to see the fab interior design of the new building while you’re on the way to the Serenity room.

3) Gender-neutral toilets

Sometimes, privacy is extremely necessary to let those feelings flow...

Located in the University house and Media City UK campus, gender-neutral toilets are the perfect place to get some privacy.

Whatever your gender identity might be, gender-neutral toilets provide a safe space for you to have a big fat cry. You can find them by the pillars on Southside!

But before you go...

Even though this article has been on a lighter note, your Student Union understands how vital each student’s mental health is.

This November, the USSU is focusing on addressing loneliness. Here are 3 facilities that the university provides to help with students’ mental health-

  • USSU Advice Centre

  • Rafiki Peer Support

Rafiki is the Student Union’s peer support listening service, led by students, for students. Rafiki volunteers can put themselves in your shoes and give you advice. This is not a professional service since it's provided by peers. Rafiki service is available from Monday to Friday from 11 am to 3 pm and you can talk to the volunteers in person or online. • University’s counselling and wellbeing team

The University provides a wellbeing and counselling service to look after its students’ mental health. Along with giving helpful tips about general wellbeing, the Wellbeing Advisers are there to give you advice on anything that is causing you stress, distress or concern. The University Counselling service gives you an opportunity to talk through your problems with a counsellor with professional skills. This will help you gain clarity on the situation and get a deeper understanding of yourself. Read more about the service on the website.

Whether you’re on the verge of a mental breakdown or not, it’s always great to have a chat with someone and get things off your chest. Make sure you check up on your friends and send them this article!
