The Advice Centre, part of the University of Salford Students’ Union, provides friendly, independent and confidential advice and guidance to students. We specialise in academic advice and work with University services and community organisations to provide a range of accessible resources and signpost students to appropriate support.
The Advice Centre is open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm all year round, except for public holidays and occasional training days. During these times you can drop-in, book an appointment, telephone or email us.
During busy periods, the drop-in and telephone service may be limited. Please let us know if you have an official deadline that applies to your case and advice will be given within this timeframe.

We are located at the Students’ Union in University House, Peel Park Campus. Please check in at the Students’ Union Info Point when you arrive.
If you have a face to face appointment you will be asked to complete an enquiry form, where you can give your consent for a case to be opened. If you receive advice over the phone, we will ask for your consent to record personal details and open a case file for you.
If you email us, we will use the information that you provide to open a confidential case file. If you do not consent to a case file being opened, you can tell us in your email.
