Job title:	USSU Student Officer (Full Time)
Working hours:	35 hours Mon-Fri (July 23 - June 24)
Salary:	£21,587

 

Role Purpose: 

• To be a voice for the student population of the University of Salford
• To oversee organisational goals for University of Salford Students' Union
• To deliver campaigns and officer goals that will make an impact on your student organisation

 

Main Activities and Responsibilities: 

 

Delivery 

 

• Deliver campaign work on issues that matter to you. These include topics such as: De-Colonising the Curriculum, tackling Climate Change on campus, supporting students who have been victims of violence, highlighting issues surrounding anti-Semitism, creating more LGBTQ+ spaces on our campus - and much more!
• Being a voice for the student population in university meetings and policy decision making
• Supporting the different SU departments and services in delivering high quality activities for the students
• Creating positive change on campus

Development 

• Giving feedback on how Salford Students' Union could improve
• Advocating for change in University policies
• Putting forward new ideas that will support students' time at university

 

Stakeholders 

• Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues throughout the Union, University and external stakeholders

All you have to do is complete the nomination form by midday on Thursday the 23rd of February. The form can be accessed here (you will need to be logged into our website to complete this).

 

Once you have completed and submitted this, it will come through to us for approval. We'll then be in touch with lots more useful information about the election process and how you can access all the support we offer to our election's candidates.

It's as easy as that and gives you plenty of time to plan your winning election campaign!
