With the recent increases in tuition fees, the Students’ Union role in ensuring you get value for money is more vital than ever.
Representing students’ voices to the University is one of the most important things we do as your Union. Within your first few weeks, you’ll meet your student rep who will take any issues you may have with your course to the University, and ensure that these are acted on.
The sabbatical officers also hold regular events where you can let them know your views on life at Salford.
Recent USSU campaigns: We developed a Bill of Education Rights which was adopted by the University, took 400 students down to London to march against education cuts and increased tuition fees and reversed University plans to scrap monthly car parking fees.
Fancy helping us represent Salford students?
If you’d like to have a positive impact on students’ lives, why not think about becoming a student representative? You can get involved whatever your availability, from devoting a few hours to representing students on your course as a student rep, to taking a year out of your studies to work full time as one of our elected sabbatical officers.
