Student Direct is HIRING!
Do you: -
• Want to be a journalist?
• Want to take part in the production of Salford’s only student newspaper?
• Want to gain skills and experience that will boost your CV and enhance your employability?
There are currently two editorial positions available at Student Direct – News Editor and Arts Editor.
These voluntary, unpaid positions are a great opportunity for budding journalists and writers to get much-needed published work.
The successful candidate will be in charge of their own section of the newspaper, and will work closely with Laura, the editor, to produce and organise the content for that section each week.
The Arts Editor should be passionate about film, literature and music and should be capable of writing and proof-reading reviews.
The News Editor should be interested in reporting University and Students’ Union events. Knowledge of the news reporting style is preferable but not essential – your enthusiasm and commitment to the position is more important. Training will be given to the successful candidate if needed.
Good organisation skills and a strong grasp of spelling and grammar are both essential.
To apply, please email Laura at studentdirect-ussu@salford.ac.uk. Specify which position you are applying for in the title and explain in no more than 100 words why you think you are a suitable candidate for the position. Deadline: Monday 23 January at 5pm
