A unique, innovative drama 'Black Eyes and Cottage Pie' has been shown in schools, colleges and workplaces across Salford and highlights the issues of power and control, consent, sexting and sexuality and focuses on domestic abuse between adults and young people. Central to the production is the escalating abuse within a young adult relationship.
Current evidence based research highlights the shocking statistics that young people aged 16-24 are three times more likely to experience domestic abuse than adults and the abuse escalates much quicker and impacts more acutely on their emotional wellbeing and academic achievement.
This important performance will include a discussion on the topic and is useful training for anyone acting as a representative or leader on campus as well as anyone working towards a career in health and social care.
