iCYCLE SALFORD BIKE HIRE
is now up and running!
iCycle is a bike rental business project undertaken by SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) based in University House at the University of Salford, with a major focus on providing low cost sustainable bicycle hire to students and staff.
The money that will be raised from this project will be wisely used for social projects that help with community development. By hiring bikes from us, you are indirectly involved in this noble cause as well as reducing your own carbon footprint. Cycling has been proved to be a great health booster as well as having no negative impact on the environment. iCycle feels there is nothing better you can do for the community, environment and to yourself by just subscribing to one of our packages.
This project will be one of our many commercial projects. Currently the bike hire scheme is being piloted by SIFE society and from this we potentially hope to expand next year to accommodate a growing demand. This scheme has been very successful and used in other cities such as the like of London, Newcastle, Oxford and many more and is the perfect opportunity to start the bike hire scheme within Salford.
Quality bikes are available for hire from one week up to the total of the academic year. All bikes are ready to ride, and come complete with lights, lock, and a full year long maintenance package.
How much will it cost?
• The cost for a new bike is ONLY £11 per week
• However the price becomes cheaper if the bikes are hired for a longer period of time.
You will also need to pay a refundable deposit of £50 for a new bike. You will need to sign a hire agreement and you will be expected to look after the bike, ensuring it is kept in good condition.
Who can participate?
All University students and staff can hire a bike. Bikes are hired out on a first-come first-served basis.

You will also receive a 10% discount voucher to use at Cycles Recycled to purchase bikes and accessories, access to a free maintenance class run by iCYCLE SALFORD, free beginner/refresher cycle training, plus support from the iCYCLE SALFORD team.
