8.0 PROMOTION OF ACTVITIY GROUPS

8.1 Methods of promotion
It is important for groups existing and new groups to constantly promote themselves to the student body. For new groups we strongly advise the following ways to promote the group to attain student interest and gain more members.
• Posters/Leaflets – Poster templates are given to new groups to design a poster of their choice, once stamped at General Office, University House can be put up around campus
• Student Direct – Activity group articles are in the Newspaper every week for promotion of groups, pictures and articles can be sent too Emily Barker, Student Direct Editor at studentdirect-ussu@salford.ac.uk
• Website –Every student activity group has their own ready made website which is linked to from the Activities page of the Students’ Union website - click here to view it.

8.2 Activity Group Minisites
The USSU website receives around 60,000 hits a month and the Activities page is one of the most popular pages, so huge numbers of potential members could be looking at your minisite.
Make sure it has all the information you’d like them to see – what your group does, when you meet and how interested students can get in touch.
If you haven’t got a site or don’t know how to update it, email: studentactivities-ussu@salford.ac.uk. We’ll set up your site for you and we can arrange a quick and simple training session to show you how it works.
