4.0 ACTIVITY FUNDING
4.1 New Activity Group Funding
Upon ratification (as stated in 2.2) new groups are eligible for start up funding since they will have missed the opportunity to access budget funding for the academic year.
An appointment should be made with the Student Activities Coordinator to discuss this funding and additional support which includes;
• Initial start up funding of up to £100
• Administrative Support including staff advice, assistance and office facilities
• Assistance with booking of meeting rooms, sports facilities & transport
• Promotional opportunities via the Union website and Student Direct

4.2 Activity Group Budget Funding
All ratified groups have the opportunity to apply for an annual budget. The application process takes part in the Semester of the prior academic year ensuring that groups have access to their budget from the 1 August each year.
Requests for over £150 will be allocated a presentation slot before the volunteer funding panel to present and support the application (Appendix 3)

All groups will be notified when application forms are available to download from the website for the academic year 2011/2012.
4.3 Projects Funding
Have you come up with a great idea but need a helping hand to develop it? Our Projects Fund may be the answer. Any student or student activity group can apply to this fund at any point in the academic year to support a project which will enhance students’ lives. Unfortunately, we cannot support projects which solely benefit one individual student.
Funding will be allocated based on each application and/or proposal and the relevance of the project to the Union’s mission and values and the aims and objectives of the strategic plan.
The projects fund application form and guidelines are downloadable throughout the year from www.salfordstudents.com (see Appendix 4)
4.4 Equipment Funding
All applications for equipment must be submitted in writing to the Student Activities Manager. There is no form for this, please ensure the document contains the following information
• Existing Equipment
• The need for new equipment
• Details of equipment requested
• Quotation of equipment cost
• The need for new equipment
