As a student at University you may live in the University's Residential Accommodation, private accommodation, be a homeowner or you could even be looking for a place to live.
Wherever you live you may encounter some problems whether it is related to your landlord or even finances.
The Students’ Union Advice Centre can help you particularly if you have issues with your University accommodation.
If you are in privately rented accommodaiton - we do not currently have any advisers trained in housing law but can sign post you to relevant areas of support . For example there is a Citizens Advice Bureua located on the Precinct at Pendleton/Salford Shopping Centre. You could also try Shelter they have a website and information outlining your rights and responsibilities and also have a telephone number that you can contact them on as well.
If you decide to look for accommodation in Salford it is always best to use a reputable company. We have had links with Manchester Student Homes for a number of years and they also have a guide which it would be useful for you to read prior to taking on other accommodation Another source you may find useful is the Landlord Accreditation Scheme (Salford and Manchester are on this list)
