On Wednesday 13^th April, the University of Salford Students’ Union will take on University of Chester Students’ Union to determine who will be the ultimate Varsity games champion. In this year's inaugural competition, Chester will host Salford, with the Varsity rematch coming to Salford grounds in 2017.

300 students in 27 teams will compete for the Varsity Trophy in sports such as Hockey, Equestrian, Netball, Fencing, Rugby Union and Rowing. The day’s events will be celebrated with the ultimate sports showdown, featuring the Men’s football teams in a whole of Varsity showcase. There will be a celebration event back at Salford, with Atmosphere Bar opening late especially to welcome back our tired, sweaty and hopefully triumphant teams.

Tickets to the all day event are open to all staff and students, and there are special packages of transport, tickets and supporter’s tees on the Varsity minisite.

Your support is 100% reinvested into the sports teams as they compete for the cup and glory of Varsity! Coaches will be leaving University House all day, so there’s lots of opportunities to travel to Chester to catch all the live action.
