Support for students experiencing racial harassment

Monday 25-01-2016 - 13:24

We have been speaking with the University’s Equality and Diversity Advisor, Celia Hart, after a recent attack on staff from our University. The University and us would like to remind students that have experienced, have witnessed or are concerned about any form of identity based bullying or harassment that there is confidential support available here on campus.

Your Union operates a zero tolerance approach to any forms of discrimination, bullying or harassment.  We urge everyone to report incidents of concern so that victims can be supported and perpetrators can be discouraged from such behaviour in the future.  No-one should have to put up with behaviour that demeans, offends, insults or intimidates them. No-one has the right to do that to you.

If you want to report an incident, discuss your concerns or access support please contact Celia Hart (Human Resources) on email equality@salford.ac.uk , alternatively email Arron Pile (Student Life) on A.Pile@salford.ac.uk.
