Text Santa Christmas charity fundariser Quiz Night – Monday 1 December

Salford SU will be joining many universities around the UK to launch the first ever ITV Text Santa Big Quiz. On the 1 December 2014, we will be part of a national wide effort to raise money for six different UK charities, helping those in need during Christmas time!

Salford won’t be the only university who will be holding the Text Santa Big Quiz, many universities around the UK are also taking part on this evening of December 1st 2014, so twitter will be heaving with photos and tweets from the night! Follow all the action and participate by following the hash tag.  

We know our regular quiz night is a popular one in Atmosphere so we thought this would be a perfect opportunity to do our bit for those in need around Christmas time! Not only is this organised by your Students’ Union, RAG are also taking part in this big event in helping us raise as much money as possible!

Text Santa is ITV’s annual charity fundraising appeal. £15m has been raised since Text Santa began in 2011 and each year the appeal raises money and awareness for six UK charities. This year it has extended out to include fundraising through quizzes all over the country.

Their aim is to improve the quality of life for vulnerable people in the UK, engaging with the nation to make a difference during Christmas time. All the money raised is split equally between each charities, Teenage Cancer Trust, Guide Dogs, WellChild, Marie Curie Cane Cure, Alzheimer’s Society and Together for Short Lives.
