New Student Networks

Wednesday 07-10-2015 - 11:41

The Union is proud to announce seven new ‘Student Networks’ for the academic year.  These networks are based around specific demographic or liberations groups, and will provide opportunities for students to meet, socialise and plan activities or campaigns relevant to their group.  Importantly, these networks will directly influence the Union’s work during the year.  There will be a direct link between the networks and the Union’s Student Senate (our decision making body), and opportunities for support and funding to deliver plans and priority areas.

If you are interested in joining a network and helping us better represent and act on the views of all students at Salford, please get in touch by email or by attending one of the open forums below.

Please note that you are welcome to join as many networks as you like – it is your choice to self-define within the networks.

The seven networks are:

  • BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) students network: 21st October
  • LGBT students network: Tuesday 13th October 7:30pm (activities space)
  • Students with Disabilities network: Thursday 15th October 12pm
  • Mature students network: Thursday 15th October 1pm
  • Women students network: Thursday 15th October 3pm
  • Postgraduate Research students network: Friday 16th October 12pm
  • International students network: Friday 16th October 1pm

All the initial meetings will take place in University House (ground floor).
